Recommended Reading

There are many books I have indulged in my spare time, ranging from the wildest corners of fiction to the most in depth Biographies. My favorite genre to read from is horror or psychological thrillers, like H.P. Lovecraft or books written in that style. I find the amount of emotion that can be conveyed through words from a book is fascinating to me. The ability to instill fear, awe, confusion, and wonder without ever describing it is something special in literature that most people do not know or get to experience. Without further ado, here are my favorite past-time reads.

At The Mountain Madness – H.P. Lovecraft – 1936

This book is centered on an geologist on an expedition through the Himalayas, and discovers ancient ruins and specimens, which later come for them.

The Call of Cthulhu – H.P. Lovecraft – 1926

This novel revolves around this Kraken-like creature in a deep slumber far below the depths of our ocean, destined to awaken in an apocalyptic age.

The Silence of the Lambs – Thomas Harris – 1988

This story follows a serial-killer cannibal searching for his next meal.

Hell House – Richard Mathewson – 1971

This tells the tale of four people hired to serve a dying millionaire in the most haunted house in the world.

About Me

My name is Isaiah J. Dollens and I have have lived in the Bay Area for all of my life so far. When I was younger I had participated in a slew of various activities. Some of the them include boxing, archery, snowboarding, motocross, wake-boarding, hockey, cross-country, track/field, and architecture. My recent personal hobbies include music performance/production, Auto-motive mechanics, Krav Maga, and working with my dad. I am a very driven and determined person, very goal oriented. When I put my mind to something that I want to do there is hardly anything that can stop me from doing it.

As a writer, I tend to lean towards more character development and the emotions of the book than any action in it. I would identify my writing style to more of a H.P. Lovecraft style than anything. More of a feeling than an actual description, because trying to describe something like that is impossible.
